I came across the Our Learning Community site when reviewing Ryan's nomination for the Young Community Citizen Award. I found it genuinely easy to use and thoughtfully put together, especially from a parent or teacher’s perspective. It’s clear that the focus is on making learning straightforward and accessible, without overcomplicating things. I liked how the resources are neatly organised by subject and year level, which makes it quick to find exactly what you’re looking for when supporting a child’s learning. The activities feel practical and purposeful, with an emphasis on core skills and building confidence rather than flashy extras. The design is simple, yet intentional and welcoming.

I found Our Learning Community to be a useful resource that provides a clear overview and snapshot of what is covered across lower, middle, and upper primary levels. The way the content is presented makes it easy for parents to understand what their children are learning at each stage. This is especially valuable for CALD (Culturally & Linguistically Diverse) communities and newly arrived migrant families who may be unfamiliar with the Australian curriculum. It helps bridge that gap by offering accessible, easy-to-follow guidance and support at home. As a mum of three primary-aged children, I can see how this platform can empower parents to feel more confident in supporting their children’s learning journey.
